Young Warriors follow in Hill’s footsteps

When Ted Hill takes his place on England’s bench against Japan at Twickenham on Saturday four of his team-mates in the Three Pears Warriors Academy will be furthering their own rugby education in the National Leagues.

Hill is in line to make his international debut as a replacement barely after a year after he was playing for Luctonians in National Two North on a dual registration with Warriors.

This weekend scrum-half Callum Morris, full-back Nick David, wing Alex Hearle and prop Nick Rigby will be in action on some arrangements which will give them experience of senior rugby.

Morris, a Wales Under-18s international, will make his debut for Stourbridge in their National Two North match at Huddersfield.

Morris, who joined Warriors from Dragons during the summer, was due to play for Stourbridge earlier in the season but his debut was delayed by injury.

David and Hearle will play for Birmingham Moseley in their National One match against Chinnor at Billesley Common.

David made his Warriors debut in last Sunday’s Premiership Rugby Cup match against Saracens at Allianz Park while Hearle was an unused replacement for that match.

Prop Nick Rigby, who was also an unused replacement at Saracens last week, will play for Birmingham & Solihull in their National Two South match against Henley Hawks at Portway.

A fifth member of the Three Pears Warriors Academy, prop Joe Morris, is preparing for next month’s Varsity Match with Oxford University.

Morris, an England Under-20s international, is studying biomedical science at St Edmund Hall and is hoping to win his second Blue at Twickenham on December 6 having won his first two years ago.
