Kitchener returns for Cavaliers

Andrew Kitchener will return from a head injury for Cavaliers in Sunday’s Premiership Rugby Shield match against Leicester Tigers Development XV at Sixways (kick-off 1.10pm).

Kitchener was injured in a clash of heads with team-mate Darren Barry in Pau two weeks ago but has now been cleared to resume playing and he will start on the blindside flank on Sunday.

Carl Kirwan, who made his Warriors’ return as a replacement in last Saturday’s European Challenge Cup win over Pau will make his second Cavaliers appearance of the season at openside.

Perry Humphreys starts at full-back with Michael Heaney at fly-half in the other changes to the side that faced Northampton Wanderers at Franklin’s Gardens on Monday.

The bench includes guest players Matt Marley and Owien Harriott-Davies and trialist Gareth Simpson, who all featured at Northampton.
