Warriors Foundation launch Hadrian’s Wall Walk fund-raiser

Warriors Community Foundation will be walking the length of Hadrian’s Wall in June to raise funds for their Visually Impaired rugby team’s ground-breaking trip to Japan during the Rugby World Cup.

Last summer Foundation staff, volunteers and members of the Visually Impaired team raised £5,000 for the Foundation and Guide Dogs when they tackled the Three Peaks Challenge.

This year they will walk the 84 miles from Bowness-on-Solway in Cumbria to Wallsend in Northumberland on a week-long trek between June 9 and 15.

Proceeds from the walk will help fund the Visually Impaired team’s Japan tour where they will showcase Hugby, an adapted form of rugby devised by the Foundation for people who have visual impairment and those who have lost their sight.

Anyone interested in joining the Hadrian’s Wall walk or helping in the fund-raising should contact Simon Northcott at simon.northcott@warriors.co.uk
