Young Warriors take cooking lessons

Five Warriors Under 18 stars put their skills to the test as they took part in a cooking practical session at Birmingham City University.

Lewis Holsey, Morgan Monks, Mitch Reeve, Noah Heward and Jonathon Lilly worked on their kitchen skills and learned how to make protein snack pots and healthy stir-fry meals.

The aim of the session was to turn the science of nutrition into practical food ideas and give the athletes simple meal ideas for fuelling matchday, training and rest days so that they don’t turn to ready meals.

Academy nutritionist William Payne said: “We want to give these young athletes long term skills which are practical and transferable, whether through university or to help with life in general.

“Everyone has to eat and it is essential that our academy players know how to fuel and look after themselves with regards to their nutrition.”
