Adams named in unchanged Wales squad for Grand Slam crunch

Warriors wing Josh Adams will start for Wales as they attempt to complete a Guinness Six Nations Grand Slam against Ireland at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday (kick-off 2.45pm).

Adams has been a key figure in taking Wales to the cusp of their first Six Nations title since 2013 and has scored a try in each of their last three matches including the winner against England in Cardiff last month and another against Scotland at Murrayfield last Saturday.

Adams, who will win his eleventh cap on Saturday, has already scored four tries in his short international career.

He will go into Saturday’s Six Nations finale looking for his fifth try in as many matches in all rugby having also crossed for Warriors in his last Gallagher Premiership match against Harlequins at The Stoop four weeks ago.

Wales Head Coach Warren Gatland has named an unchanged squad for his 50th and final Six Nations match.

“We’ve named an unchanged squad and rewarded the players for the last couple of outings and the last couple of victories,” Gatland said

“These players are on a very good run, they are a hugely impressive group and they deserve to be going into the final weekend with everything to play for.

“It is a great reward for them for the hard work they have put in and we are all looking forward to what is going to be a huge game.

“For a number of us as coaches this is our last Six Nations game and the fact that it is in Cardiff is extra special. There is bound to be a bit of emotion on Saturday and that is something to embrace.”
