King’s in familiar surroundings for national final at Sixways

The King’s School, Worcester will be on familiar territory when they face Glyn School from Surrey in the National Under-18s Schools Bowl final at Sixways on Tuesday (kick-off 2.00pm).

King’s are used to playing at Sixways where their annual local derby against RGS Worcester is played for the Modus Cup each October.

RGS took the trophy with a 31-13 this season but King’s will be back at the Gallagher Premiership ground on Tuesday as they attempt to take the fourth tier national title.

King’s route to the final included victories over Ampleforth (33-31) in the semi-finals and Lady Manners from Derbyshire (36-0) in the quarter-finals.

Warriors Under-18s loosehead prop Joe Richardson and Under-16s trio Willem Humphreys, Owen Preston and Matt Doughty have been included in King’s squad for the Bowl final.

There will be three more National Schools finals at Sixways on Tuesday with Judd School from Kent and Hutton School from Lancashire kicking off the day with the National Under-15s Bowl final at 11am.

Hymers College from Hull and Trinity School from Croydon will then meet in the National Under-15s Plate final at 12.30pm.

Sherborne School from Dorset and Bloxham School from Oxfordshire will play the fourth and final of the day at 3.40pm when they meet for the National Under-18s Plate.

Admission to Sixways on Tuesday is free.
