Vote for Josh Adams as Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship

Warriors wing Josh Adams has been shortlisted for the 2019 Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship.

Adams was a key figure in helping Wales to a Grand Slam in head Coach Warren Gatland’s last Six Nations in charge.

It was Adams’ break that set up scrum-half Tomos Williams for the try that began Wales’ memorable fightback against France in Paris in their tournament opener.

The Warriors flyer then scored a try in each of the consecutive victories over Italy, England and Scotland with his last-gasp effort against England in Cardiff snatching a dramatic win.

Adams is one of four Wales players on the six-man shortlist for the Player of the Championship prize.

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones led from the front on the way to his third Grand Slam is also on the shortlist along with Liam Williams and Hadleigh Parkes, who scored an early try in Saturday’s win over Ireland in Cardiff.

England wing Jonny May, who scored six tries in the tournament including a first half hat-trick against France, and back-rower Tom Curry complete the shortlist.

The six shortlisted players will look to follow in the footsteps of Ireland’s Jacob Stockdale, who won in 2018, succeeding two-time winner Stuart Hogg of Scotland.

Brian O’Driscoll of Ireland holds the record for the most wins with three, having won it in 2006, 2007 and 2009.

The 2019 Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship shortlist – selected by a panel of experts from the media – now goes to fans for their vote.
