Dementia Sports Café on track

The Warriors Community Foundation’s Tackling Dementia Sports Café went back to the age of steam when they enjoyed a day out at the Severn Valley Railway.

Warriors Community Foundation staff accompanied people living with dementia, family members and carers on a steam train trip from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and back.

“The trip provided the opportunity to get together, share experiences and engage in a relaxing, safe and friendly environment whilst enjoying a well -earned pie and pint at the Railwayman’s Arms while creating and sharing memories,” said Chris Stephenson, Warriors Community Foundation Inclusion Coach.

“Thanks to all the staff at Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust Ltd for their assistance with the trip and all the care and help they gave us on the day.”

The Dementia Sports Café takes place at Sixways every Wednesday from 11am to midday and is designed to offer fun activities and friendship for those suffering from dementia and their families, friends and carers.
