Two more sign on for Warriors Women

Warriors Women have made two more signings ahead of the 2019/2020 Tyrrells Premier 15s season.

Flanker Taz Bricknell will be linking up with Roy Davies’ side after leaving Gloucester-Hartpury Women, while young back Jess Wilson has also joined the club after a successful trial.

Bricknell, who can also play at scrum-half, has made five appearances for England under-20s and scored three tries for the cherry-and-whites last term.

The move sees Bricknell follow former Gloucester-Hartpury teammates, and new Warriors Women signings, Sasha Acheson, Mary-Ann Gittings and Jade Shekells to Sixways.

And Warriors Director of Rugby Davies is delighted to have signed Bricknell, having previously coached her at Bristol Ladies.

“Taz has lots of talent and has played top-flight rugby in a number of positions,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to working with her again and believe that if we can get her anywhere near her potential, we’ll have a hell of a rugby player on our hands.”

Meanwhile 18-year-old Wilson, who plays at centre or fly-half, turned out for Midlands North 2 side Peterborough last season.

“Jess emailed asking for a trial and we’ve been massively impressed with what we’ve seen so far,” Davies added.

“She’s a powerful carrier who can distribute off both hands and we hope she’ll have a big future at Worcester.”

Both players made their debuts in Saturday’s friendly win over Lichfield Ladies, with Bricknell claiming a try in a 73 – 12 victory.
