Warriors AASE team fall to experienced Myerscough

Warriors AASE team, Stourport High School, were beaten 45-12 by their Sale Sharks counterparts – Myerscough College, in their third league match of the season.

An experienced Myerscough side controlled the game for long periods and opened up a 26 points lead at the break as they ran in four unanswered tries, three of which were converted.

Errors in attack meant that Stourport spent long periods of the half in defence  but they started the second period more brightly when a sustained attack produced a brilliant individual try for Louis Filiatrault from a scrum.

Jai Crippin added the conversion but Myerscough ended Stourport’s victory hopes by scoring two more tries.

Stourport showed character by ending the match on a positive note when they kicked a penalty into Myerscough’s 22 and the pack drove to the line with Sam Hayler peeling off to score an unconverted try.

Stourport will be next in action on Wednesday October 2 when they travel to play Oakland College, Saracens’ AASE team.
