Fun and fund-raising for Oscar at Sixways

Warriors have announced a range of fun fund-raising activities which will run alongside the Help for Oscar  charity rugby match at Sixways on Wednesday October 9.

All proceeds from the evening will be used to help send five-year-old Worcester schoolboy Oscar Saxelby-Lee to Singapore for specialist leukaemia treatment.

The treatment is not available on the National Health Service so Oscar’s family need to raise £500,000 to send him abroad.

Warriors and West Mercia Police are two of the local organisations who are raising money to help Oscar and they have joined forces for a fun-packed night at Sixways.

Gates will open at 5pm with entry through the new Fanzone turnstiles.

There will be two curtain-raiser matches with a mixed ability game starting at 5.25pm followed by Warriors Staff v Worcester RFC XV at 6pm.

West Mercia Police will then take on Warwickshire Police in the feature match of the evening at 7.30pm.

The new Fanzone will be open throughout the evening with plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained including a rodeo rugby ball, an interactive challenge, face painter, glitter tattoos, a police car and police dogs and music provided by Jct7 pre-match and Come Together afterwards.

There will also be a range of fund-raising activities for Oscar including a bucket collection, the sale of wristbands, a bake sale in the Inn at the Side, a bikeathon, silent auction and raffle.

Greene King are generously supplying IPA, Becks, Stowford Press, Berry Cider and Guinness with the full value of sale on the night being donated to support Oscar.

Tickets are available in advance from the Warriors Ticket Office but tickets will also be on sale from the Warriors Ticket Office on the evening. Tickets can be purchased here.

On-site parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis with a donation to Oscar’s charity.

First Midland will be running one bus to Sixways Stadium from Crowngate Bus Station before the match with one return bus after the event.
