Taufete’e to start for Eagles against Argentina

Warriors hooker Joe Taufete’e will again start for USA as they go in search of their first win in this year’s Rugby World Cup against Argentina in Kumagaya on Wednesday.

Taufete’e started in the Eagles’ defeats by England and France and is one of 12 starters retained by Head Coach Gary Gold as USA seek their first Rugby World Cup win since 2011.

Taufete’e will win his 26th international cap against Argentina having scored 20 tries in his first 25 Tests. But Taufete’e has gone three Tests without a try – his longest sequence without one in three years.

Neither USA nor Argentina can progress beyond Pool C as England and France have both won three matches and have already secured their places in the quarter-finals.
