Disappointment for Taufete’e in Japan

There was disappointment for Warriors’ hooker Joe Taufete’e as USA went down 47-17 to Argentina in  their third Rugby World Cup Pool C match in Kumagaya on Wednesday.

Taufete’e won his 26th international cap and played the first 50 minutes of the all-Americas match before he was substituted as the Eagles Head Coach and former Warriors Director of Rugby Gary Gold changed his entire front row.

Taufete’e was unable to add to his tally of 20 tries, a record by a front row forward in international rugby, before he departed.

USA end their World Cup campaign against Tonga in Osaka on Sunday when they will be seeking their first win in the competition since 2011.
