Fidow to start for Samoa against Ireland

Warriors wing Ed Fidow will start for Samoa against Ireland in his country’s final match of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

World Rugby have announced that, despite the presence of Typhoon Hagibis, the match will be played as scheduled (kick-off 11.45 am BST).

Samoa’s loss to Japan last Saturday saw them knocked out of the tournament, although Fidow has enjoyed an impressive debut World Cup, scoring twice in his three starts.

The wing has made a prolific start to international rugby, with those two tries bringing his tally to ten tries in 11 matches.

Samoa coach Steve Jackson has made two changes to his starting XV for the match against Ireland, both in the forward pack.
