Warriors Women team news | Shekells returns as Mimnagh makes debut

Ireland international hooker Sarah Mimnagh is set to make her Warriors Women debut against  Saracens at Allianz Park on Sunday (kick-off 1.30pm).

Mimnagh is one of five changes to the starting XV from last week’s loss at Richmond, with the 29-year-old making her first appearance since joining from Richmond.

Akina Gondwe and Lauren Leatherland continue at prop, with Gwen Crabb reforming her second-row partnership with captain Lyndsay O’Donnell.

In the back row, flanker Taz Bricknell and No.8 Alex Callender are joined by Laura Thomas, who makes her first start of the season.

For the first time this campaign, the half-back partnership remains the same, with scrum-half Brooke Bradley again linking up with fly-half Megan Goddard.

Jade Shekells comes back into the starters from the bench to take the place of Vicky Foxwell at outside centre, with Megan Varley partnering her at inside centre.

The last change is in the back three where Zoe Heeley swaps roles with Caitlin Lewis to start at wing. Full-back Mary-Ann Gittings and wing Cara Clarke join Heeley in the new-look backline.

In the replacements, Carmen Tremelling, Elizabeth Shermer and C. Lewis all drop down from the starting XV, with Ffion Lewis and Sara Moeria keeping their places on the bench.

While recent Wales Women call-ups Sioned Harries and Angharad de Smet could make their first Tyrrells Premier 15s appearances if they come on.

In the Development XV, Lucy Lockhart is named at scrum-half, with Vicky Laflin captaining the side from full-back.
