Fidow ends Rugby World Cup campaign with defeat

Warriors wing Ed Fidow’s Rugby World Cup campaign ended in disappointment as Samoa were beaten 47-5 by Ireland in their final Pool A match in Fukuoka on Saturday.

Ireland’s bonus point win secured them top spot in the pool despite having centre Bundee Aki sent off for a shoulder charge.

Fidow started all four of Samoa’s matches but was unable to add to his tally of ten international tries before he was substituted 11 minutes into the second half.

Fidow began his first Rugby World Cup with a brace of tries in their victory over Russia in their opening match.
