Sixways Inclusive Café a huge success

Warriors supporters can help support the Warriors Community Foundation’s award-winning Tackling Dementia Sports Cafes by having a cup of tea and a slice of cake on Sixways matchdays.

The new Inclusive Café was opened at last weekend’s Gallagher Premiership match against Leicester Tigers and raised more than £100 from the sale of tea, coffee, cakes and sweets.

The Inclusive Café, which is situated in the bar area of the Inn At The Side, is run by volunteers- carers and people living with dementia – who attend the weekly Tackling Dementia Sports Cafes at Sixways and Kidderminster.

“The cafe was a roaring success and proved that a diagnosis of dementia doesn’t and shouldn’t stop people living with dementia from doing things,” said Simon Northcott of Warriors Community Foundation.

The Inclusive Café will be open for business again when Warriors host Exeter Chiefs in the Gallagher Premiership on Sunday November 3 (kick-off 3.00pm).

The Tackling Dementia Sports Cafes run weekly at Youth House in Kidderminster every Tuesday (1pm to 3pm) and at Sixways every Wednesday (10.30am to 1pm) and are free to all.
