Club Statement | Traffic congestion after Exeter Chiefs match

Warriors would like to apologise to supporters who encountered difficulties in exiting the Sixways car parks after Sunday’s Gallagher Premiership match against Exeter Chiefs.

The problems encountered were a result of traffic flow issues on the Sixways island, which is a busy interchange where roadworks are on-going.

“We can understand the frustrations of supporters who spent an unacceptable length of time queuing to leave the car park on Sunday,” said Warriors’ Managing Director Peter Kelly.

“Staff from the club and EST, our car parking partner, worked hard to find solutions on the night but the issue stemmed from tailbacks on Sixways island which are beyond the control of the club.

“We shall be seeking urgent discussions with Highways England, who are responsible for traffic management at the motorway junction to ensure that there is no repeat of Sunday’s congestion.

“As a club we will continue to review and improve our own traffic management systems.”
