Mama in line for Cavaliers return

Warriors back-row forward Marco Mama is set to return to action for Cavaliers in their Premiership Rugby Shield match against Wasps A at Sixways on Monday December 16 (kick-off 7.30pm).

Mama has not played since he suffered a dead leg in Warriors’  Gallagher Premiership match against Exeter Chiefs in early November. But he is close to regaining full fitness and has been named in a strong provisional squad for Monday’s match.

Cavaliers opened their Shield campaign with a 47-15 win over Sale Sharks last month and they face a busy schedule over the festive period with an away game against Gloucester United at Kigsholm on Saturday December 21 (kick-off 12.00pm) followed by another home match against Northampton Wanderers at Sixways on Monday December 30 (kick-off 7.30pm).

The provisional squad for the Wasps A match includes Samoa wing Ed Fidow and USA hooker Joe Taufete’e, who were both involved in the Rugby World Cup earlier in the season.

Scott van Breda, who has had two spells on loan with Isuzu Southern Kings in the Guinness Pro-14 this season is also set to play for Cavaliers along with loosehead prop Ryan Bower, who made his 100th appearance for Warriors against Dragons last week.

Admission to Cavaliers matches is free for Warriors Season Ticket Holders and Under-16s, £5 for all others. Car parking is free.
