Morris rejoins Ampthill on dual registration

Warriors’ centre Oli Morris is set to return to action with Ampthill in the Greene King IPA Championship this weekend.

Morris helped Ampthill win the National One title last season and promotion to the Championship while he was on a dual registration with the Bedfordshire club from Saracens.

Morris joined Warriors last summer and spent the early part of this season on a dual registration with Birmingham Moseley in National One.

He made a try-scoring senior debut for Warriors in the European Challenge Cup victory over Enisei-STM in Russia in November and impressed playing for Cavaliers in their early Premiership Rugby Shield matches.

A hamstring injury has sidelined Morris in recent weeks but he is now fully fit and, having joined Ampthill on a dual registration, he is in line to play for them in Sunday’s match against Yorkshire Carnegie at Headingley.

Morris is one of six members of the Three Pears Warriors Academy who will be gaining valuable first team experience at other clubs this weekend.

Full-back Noah Heward, who has been training with England Under-20s, has joined his club-mate, loosehead prop Lewis Holsey, on a dual registration at London Scottish who host Nottingham in the Championship on Friday evening.

Noah has been playing for Stourbridge in National Two North this season but has now stepped up two divisions.

Back-row forward Morgan Monks and hooker Beck Cutting are again available for selection by Birmingham Moseley who host Rosslyn Park at Billesley Common on Saturday in National One.

Scrum-half Callum Morris will be back on duty with Stourbridge who face Preston Grasshoppers at Stourton Park in National Two North on Saturday.
