Tony Windo

Tony Windo had already made 180 appearances for Gloucester in a ten-year career before he joined Warriors in 1999.

He went on England’s ‘Tour of Hell’ to the Southern Hemisphere in 1998 but did not win a cap although he was widely-regarded as one of the best loosehead props in the country, combining solid scrummaging with mobility.

Windo helped Warriors win promotion to the Premiership for the first time in 2004 and made 222 appearances in a nine-year career at Sixways.

He retired in 2008 having combined playing with a coaching role with the club in his latter seasons at Sixways. Windo is now Director of Rugby at Bromsgrove School.

Matt Mullan

Matt Mullan played his formative rugby at Bromsgrove School, where his father, Paul, is Head of Sport and progressed through the Warriors Academy to the senior squad.

He made his Warriors debut in a Powergen Cup match against Newport Gwent Dragons in 2005 and his league debut two years later.

Mullan played for England Under-20s, England Saxons and England – he won the first of his six caps as a replacement against Italy in the 2010 Six Nations – during his time at Sixways.

Having made 113 appearances in an eight-year Warriors career, Mullan joined Wasps in 2013 and left them in January 2019.

Ryan Bower

Ryan Bower joined Warriors from Leicester Tigers in the summer of 2014 and helped the club win promotion back to the Premiership in his first season at Sixways.

He represented England Under-20s during his four years at Leicester and also had a spell on loan at Nottingham. Bower played for a Championship XV which defeated against Canada at Sixways in November 2014.

Bower, solid, dependable and consistent, made 31 appearances in the 2017/18 season and became only the 24thWarriors player in the professional era to make 100 appearances for the club in the European Challenge Cup match against Dragons in December 2019.

Mark Linnett

Mark Linnett joined Warriors in 1995 when the club was then in Division Five North and was a significant influence in the rise to what is now the RFU Championship.

Having started his career with Rugby, his hometown club, Linnett had a long and successful career with Moseley and won an England cap against Fiji in 1989. He scored a try on his international debut but was unfortunate that his career overlapped with Jeff Probyn then Jason Leonard.

The prop combined strong technical scrummaging with mobility and a strong try-sniffing instinct. The jolly Birmingham policeman also helped to lift spirits off the pitch and formed a formidable comedy act with lock Steve Lloyd.

Linnett, who made 22 appearances for the Barbarians, joined Birmingham & Solihull in 2000 and made his final appearance for them in 2007 at the age of 44 when he came out of retirement to help them out in an injury crisis.
