A message to supporters from Colin and Jason

Dear Warriors Supporter

We hope that you and your families are all keeping safe and well in these difficult times.

You will know that, like businesses across the nation, we have been in lockdown for more than six weeks now with matches and events postponed because of the Coronavirus.

Although the current situation is challenging for everyone we know it will end at some point and decisions are being made now to safeguard the club throughout the crisis to ensure that we emerge all the stronger
knowing we have done as much as we can to serve our community.

The incredible support you have shown is truly humbling and has encouraged us to fight on through this crisis together as one Warriors family.

We can’t wait to be able to return to action and enjoy the rugby again together with the whole Warriors family – supporters, commercial partners and staff.

We also look forward to opening our doors again for a busy programme of conferences and other non-rugby events, which are an important part of the business.

We appreciate everything you, the staff, players and past players have done for our community during the lockdown. It shows the true values of rugby, what it means to be a Warrior and the power of the Warriors to support the community.

We are proud to be a part of the Warriors family and stand shoulder to shoulder with you all, we value everything you have done and continue to do for the club.

We continue to monitor the advice of the government, Premiership Rugby and the RFU on the return to play and will ensure Sixways is a safe place for you and your families before our doors reopen.

The Premiership have confirmed their intention to finish the season if possible and efforts are underway to explore how we could make that happen.

We do not have a definite date for a return to play but we are already planning ahead for next season with confidence. The players have already started their individual training which our expert S&C, medical and coaching staff are continually reviewing to ensure the players are on top form.

Alan Solomons has now finalised his coaching staff for next season and we are excited about the talented team he has assembled.

Jonathan Thomas, a former Warriors captain, will be returning to Sixways from Bristol Bears as our new Forwards Coach with former Wales Backs Coach Matt Sherratt, who started his coaching career in our Academy, now returning from Ospreys as our new Backs and Attack Coach.

Mark Irish, a former England Under-21 prop and experienced coach, will also be joining us from Bristol as Scrum and Assistant Forwards Coach.

We are delighted that Omar Mouneimne, who has impressed everyone with his skill, passion and commitment as our Defence Coach, and our Head of Performance Johan Pretorius – who has made Warriors one of the fittest teams in the Premiership – have both extended their contracts with us.

Solly believes that he has assembled a team of top-class coaches who will work well together with real synergy and develop the exciting young talent that we have retained this year in the squad.

Solly’s vision is to bring through and develop homegrown players from the Three Pears Warriors Academy which is why his focus this year has been on retaining the likes of Ted Hill, Andrew Kitchener, Tom Dodd and Justin Clegg.

Solly has also retained a number of experienced players from the existing squad – including Cornell du Preez, Sam Lewis, Ethan Waller, Nick Schonert, Niall Annett, Ashley Beck and Anton Bresler – to help the transition of the youngsters into senior rugby. New additions have already been announced to strengthen that squad further including Billy Searle with more to follow.

Off the pitch our staff have been working hard preparing for the return to action and we shall soon be announcing Season Ticket details for the 2020/21 season.

We appreciate these are difficult times for everyone and we have considered this when setting our pricing policy which, despite a multi-million investment to improve the facilities and match day experience, will
ensure access to supporting the Warriors is affordable and accessible for all.

We have no doubt that, many of you will have questions and concerns about the club and rugby in general.

We want to give you the opportunity to ask those questions and for us to speak with you all again at another Ask The Owners video Q&A session.

If you have a question please send it to: media@warriors.co.uk by Wednesday May 13. We will endeavour to answer as many of your questions as we can and will post the video footage on our website and social media channels.

Once again we sincerely value your continuing support of the club, it means the world to us, the players and all the staff working tirelessly behind the scenes.

We will get through this together as one Warriors family.
