Warriors’ specially-commissioned branded facemasks are now in stock and will be posted out to supporters who have purchased them over the next few days.
The masks have been produced by former Warriors lock James Percival and will raise funds for NHS charities and the Warriors Community Foundation.
Percival, who is now coaching at Tarbes in France, and his brother Oliver set up Huge Gorilla, which is based in Worcester, before the Coronavirus pandemic with the intention of producing sports and business wear/ gym wear and nutrition.
They have now switched their focus to producing cotton face masks, which are washable, reusable and adjustable and will help to slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
The masks are made from 100 per cent cotton and are not used for medical purposes and their use helps to alleviate pressure on the supply chain for Personal Protection Equipment for frontline and key workers during the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus.
The branded Warriors facemasks which are blue with a Warrior Head logo, cost £7 and can be ordered here .
Huge Gorilla are also supplying 180 free facemasks to Warriors’ players, coaches and staff to wear when the lockdown regulations allow a return to Sixways.
“The business is a new business. We had the setup in place just before the outbreak of COVID 19 with the intention of the brand specialising in sports/business wear, home gym and nutrition,” James Percival said.
“Obviously with the outbreak we re-geared things to provide face masks for supporters, players and staff across all sports while also helping businesses.
“Warriors are very close to my heart having first played there as a young lad and in the academy then returning to play in the senior team and captaining my boyhood club.
“I still follow them from afar and often drop Alan Solomons and Matt Cox a message after the wins.”
