WARRIORS WOMEN SIGN WALES INTERNATIONAL PAIR

Warriors Women have secured the services of Wales internationals Robyn Wilkins and Hannah Bluck in the build-up to the 2020/21 Premier 15s season.

Wilkins, 25, who plies her trade at fly-half, has 48 Wales caps to her name and has been an ever-present of the national squad since making her debut aged 18 in the opening game of the 2014 Six Nations.

“Playing for Worcester will be a new challenge for me, but one I’m super excited for and it is an awesome opportunity for me to play in a different environment and make myself a better rugby player,” said Wilkins, whose previous clubs include Cardiff Blues and Llandaff North.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old centre Bluck has represented Wales in both the fifteen-a-side and sevens format and is a welcome addition to the Warriors Women backline.

Enthused by the challenge which lies ahead at Sixways, Bluck, who has five Wales caps to her name, added: “I’m looking forward to the new season with Worcester and it is an opportunity which I’m going to grab with both hands.”

Former Cardiff Blues player Bluck has represented Wales in three different sports, the other two being basketball and football to underline her athleticism at elite level.

Sian Moore, Warriors Women Lead Coach is delighted to welcome the Welsh duo to Sixways, adding: “Robyn has impressed since joining up with her new teammates and has made an immediate impact.

“She’s a very dynamic fly-half, with a great eye for detail. She’s a seasoned international and still has a great attitude to continually develop her game.

“She’s an exciting player and definitely one to watch this coming season.

“Hannah is also a naturally talented athlete – she’s confrontational and confident both in attack and defence. We’re looking forward to developing her all-round game.”

Wilkins and Bluck are quality additions to a Warriors squad bursting at the seams ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. Excitement continues to build at Sixways as Director of Rugby Jo Yapp prepares her charges for the new Premier 15s campaign, which welcomes Exeter Chiefs and Sale Sharks to the party.
