WARRIORS WOMEN TRIO IN WALES SIX NATIONS SQUAD

Alex Callender, Robyn Wilkins and Hannah Bluck have been selected in Wales’ 35-strong squad ahead of their rescheduled Women’s Six Nations fixture against Scotland at the end of October.

“We are really pleased to see Alex, Robyn and Hannah named in the Welsh squad,” said Warriors Women Director of Rugby Jo Yapp.

“All three have been really committed during pre-season and thoroughly deserve this opportunity.”

Callender, who committed her future to Warriors in May, bolsters Wales’ back-row options, while experienced fly-half Wilkins and centre Bluck will be looking to impress after recently making the switch to Sixways.

Callender has 10 Welsh caps to her name and was part of the Warriors squad that recorded three home wins on the spin last season, a sequence that moved the Sixways outfit up the table. The all-action forward was part of the Scarlets side that won the regional competition, culminating in a call-up to the Wales Sevens squad.

Meanwhile, Wilkins, 25, is closing in on 50 caps and has been an ever-present of the national squad since making her debut aged 18 in the opening game of the 2014 Six Nations. Athletic centre Bluck will be itching to add to her five caps, the former Cardiff Blues player having also represented Wales in basketball and football to underline her versatility.
