ALEX MATTHEWS LAUNCHES DIDI RUGBY WORCESTER

Warriors Women and England ace Alex Matthews launched didi Rugby Worcester on Saturday, inspiring young children in the area to get active and learn new skills in a safe environment.

The World Cup-winner, who made the switch to Sixways during the summer, has recently teamed up with didi founder and CEO Vicky Macqueen to expand the business into Worcester and get children aged 18 months to six-years-old playing rugby and learning new skills along the way.

“It was brilliant to see so many smiling faces, especially those who were initially shy and came into their own towards the end of the session.

“Their confidence and comfort grew throughout.”

Based at Worcester RFC, the classes take place every Saturday in line with school term and are aimed at getting children physically active as well as teaching them new skills and improving their co-ordination, speed and balance. Improving their confidence and social skills is also a key aspect of the classes.

Parents and carers are encouraged to get involved during the classes, which are delivered in a friendly and relaxed manner.

The first session is free and you can sign up by visiting didirugby.com or by emailing alex.matthews@didirugby.com.
