Warriors sign Kieran Verden on loan

Warriors have signed tighthead prop Kieran Verden on a short-term loan deal from Bath Rugby.

Verden, 22, trained at Sixways on Thursday and is expected to be included in the matchday squad for Saturday’s European Rugby Challenge Cup match against Pau at the Stade du Hameau as three tightheads – Nick Schonert, Richard Palframan and Joe Morris – are currently sidelined by ankle injuries.

“We are very appreciative for Bath loaning Kieran Verden,” said Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.

“Kieran is a good young prospect who has slotted in well here and I’m sure that he will give a good account of himself at the weekend.”

Verden toured South Africa with England Under-18s in the summer of 2017 in a squad that included three current Warriors in Ted Hill, Beck Cutting and James Scott.

He made his Bath debut as a replacement against Warriors at The Recreation Ground in September.
