Following in-depth discussions with its shareholder leagues and unions, EPCR has announced a revised tournament format for this season’s European Rugby Challenge Cup.
The tournament will resume with a round of 16 matches on the weekend of April 2-4 and the knockout stages will continue with quarter-finals, semi-finals and the scheduled Marseille finals on EPCR’s allocated weekends in April and May.
The decision means that Warriors’ matches at Ospreys and at home to Pau, which were postponed last month due to COVID-19, have now been cancelled.
It also means that Warriors were not among the eight highest-ranked clubs from the preliminary stage of the Challenge Cup who progress to the next stage of the competition.
