Warriors youngsters in England Under-20s action

Three members of the Three Pears Warriors Academy have been included in the England Under-20s squad for Saturday’s friendly against London Irish Under-23s at Hazelwood (kick of 2.00pm).

Fly-half Fin Smith will start for England a week after making his senior debut for Warriors as a replacement against Gloucester at Kingsholm where he became only the second 18-year-old to play for the club in the Premiership.

Loosehead prop Lewis Holsey, who made three first team appearances last season, has been named among the England replacements along with centre Seb Atkinson.

Holsey has recently recovered from a dislocated shoulder, an injury he sustained in November and which required
surgery.

A fourth Three Pears Warriors Academy player, tighthead prop Mitch Reeve, will play for London Irish as the England selectors want the opportunity to assess him against their starting props.

Saturday’s match forms part of England’s preparations for the postponed Under-20s Six Nations, dates for which gets underway next month.
