Ollie Lawrence helps England end France’s Grand Slam hopes

Warriors centre Ollie Lawrence helped England to scupper France’s hopes of a Guinness Six Nations Grand Slam with a 23-20 win at Twickenham.

Lawrence won his fifth cap when he came on as a 72nd minute replacement for Henry Slade and he produced a busy cameo.

Having had to wait 60 minutes before he touched the ball against Scotland last month, Lawrence twice carried effectively within minutes of coming on which helped England to create the pressure from which Maro Itoje scored the decisive try three minutes from time.

England recovered from conceding a try within 80 seconds of the kick-off from Antoine Dupont before wing Anthony Watson led the fightback with a try in his 50th international.
