Matt Sherratt to leave Warriors at end of season

Warriors’ Attack and Backs Coach Matt Sherratt is to leave the club at the end of the current season by mutual agreement.

Sherratt returned to Sixways last summer from Ospreys but will be released from the remainder of his contract. He will rejoin Cardiff Blues where he previously  worked from 2016 to 2018.

“Jockey leaves with our blessing, his release from contract was a mutual decision and we part on good terms,” said Warriors’ Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.

“Jockey has been a popular member of our coaching staff and has made a valuable contribution during his time with us. He will always be welcome here at Sixways and we wish him all the best.”

Sherratt is in his second spell at Sixways having spent five years coaching in the Academy after arriving on an initial placement.

“I’m grateful to Warriors for giving me the opportunity this season, it’s a great club and I’m pleased to have been a part of Warriors again,” Sherratt said.

“This is very much a decision that has been made for personal reasons.

“I have enjoyed working with a talented group of players at Warriors and as part of the new coaching team this season. Although results have not been what we would have hoped for, with the potential in the squad and the signings that have been made, the future is very bright.

“I wish everyone at Sixways all the best and thank them for their support during both my spells here.”
