Sixways eighth in list of best rugby stadiums

Sixways has been ranked eighth best rugby stadium in the world for atmosphere, cleanliness, affordability and food in a table compiled by the Liverugbytickets website.

The table, compiled after research by the website into 40 club rugby grounds – both union and league grounds – gave Sixways a fan satisfaction score of 7.6 out of 10. That put Warriors’ home ground ahead of AAMI Park in Melbourne, which hosts both rugby codes, and Thomond Park, home of Munster, in the list’s top ten.

“We have invested significantly in improving the spectator experience at Sixways over the last three years and we are delighted to see recognition of our efforts in the Top 10 of world rugby grounds in this list,” said Warriors’ Managing Director Peter Kelly.

“We have installed new floodlights, high-speed wifi, three new big screens with digital ribbons and improved our public address system to ensure that the Sixways matchday experience is one of the best in the Gallagher Premiership.

“But we are always looking at ways that we can improve and we value the feedback we get from spectators through our matchday surveys which are a valuable source of information for us.”

The Rec, home of Bath Rugby, topped the poll with a fan satisfaction rating of 9.5 with Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road second with a rating of 9.0, Exeter Chiefs’ Sandy Park and Harlequins joint fifth with 7.9 and Saracens’ Allianz Park seventh with a rating of 7.7.
