Ted Hill re-appointed Club Captain

England international back-row forward Ted Hill has been re-appointed Worcester Warriors’ Club Captain for the 2021/22 season.

Hill became Warriors’ youngest-ever Club Captain when he was first appointed 12 months ago and became the fourth youngest-ever captain in Premiership history at 21 years and 142 days when he led the side out against Gloucester in August 2020.

“Any form of captaincy is about growth and learning through your experiences,” said Head Coach Jonathan Thomas.

“Being a young captain in a side that endured a tough season reveals your character. I cannot speak highly enough of the way that Ted conducted himself on and off the field during what was a difficult season.

“Ted will have learnt a huge amount from last season and he is someone that we want to be at the forefront of the leadership of this club for a long, long time.

“It’s about us giving Ted the opportunity to lead but also about us supporting him to help him grow as a captain.

“The traits you look for in a quality captain is leading through your actions which Ted does every week. He is consistent on the field and is a consistent character off the field.

“He doesn’t ask people to do something that he wouldn’t do himself. Whatever Ted asks others to do he always commits to himself.

“Re-appointing Ted as Club Captain was an absolute no brainer for us.”

Warriors will name two co-captains – a forward and a back – in each matchday squad.
