Busy weekend of loan action for Warriors players

Nine Warriors will be in action in the RFU Championship or National Leagues on a busy weekend of loan action.

Back-row forward Caleb Montgomery will be the first Warriors player to play as he continues his loan spell with Cornish Pirates in the Championship.

Montgomery has been named as a replacement for Pirates’ Friday night match against Nottingham at Lady Bay.

Number eight Morgan Monks will again start for Ampthill for their Championship match against Jersey Reds at the Stade Santander International on Saturday.

Scrum-half Ollie Wynn is on the bench for Ampthill’s seasonal trip to the Channel Islands.

Tom Howe will switch from wing to full-back for Coventry’s match against Championship leaders Ealing Trailfinders at the Butts Park Arena.

Lock James Scott is set to make his first appearance for Hartpury in two years having re-joined the Gloucestershire club on loan. Scott, who had spells on loan with Glasgow Warriors and Jersey Reds last season, has been named on the bench for Saturday’s match against London Scottish at the Richmond Athletic Ground.

In National One, loosehead prop Kai Owen will start for Birmingham Moseley, with tighthead prop Joe Morris on the bench, for the visit of former Premiership club Leeds Tykes to Billesley Common.

Flanker Jack Forsythe will also start for Luctonians in their National Two North match against Yorkshire visitors Wharfedale at Mortimer Park.

Loosehead prop Ben Murphy is among the Luctonians’ replacements but lock Cheick Kone misses out this week because of injury.

Meanwhile scrum-half Tom Miles, another member of the Three Pears Warriors Academy, helped Loughborough University to a 32-6 home win over Cardiff University in their latest match in the BUCS Super Rugby competition on Wednesday evening.
