TEAM NEWS | Warriors Women v Bristol Bears

Scotland international Lisa Cockburn will make her Warriors debut against Bristol Bears in tomorrow’s Christmas Cracker fixture at Sixways (kick-off 1pm).

The 29-year-old made the move to Sixways last week after an eight-year stint with DMP Durham Sharks, with the loose head prop packing down alongside fellow compatriot Lana Skeldon and England talent Flo Long.

Sioned Harries gets the nod at number-eight, the experienced Wales international having come on at half-time during last week’s home defeat to Exeter. Abi Kershaw rounds off the changes at full-back and makes up a pacey back three, with Red Roses flyer Lydia Thompson and Canada international Paige Farries occupying both wings.

“We’re really looking forward to taking on Bristol, who have been going really well in the league this season,” said Jo Yapp, Warriors Women’s Director of Rugby.

“They strengthened significantly in the summer and they are a team who like to move the ball around as well as having big ball carriers.

“It’s great to have Lisa [Cockburn] join us and we’re looking forward to seeing her in action. Due to injuries Lisa has a great opportunity and I’m sure that she will grab it with both hands.”
