TEAM NEWS | Warriors Women v Gloucester-Hartpury

Warriors Women host Gloucester-Hartpury at Sixways in Round 9 of the Allianz Premier 15s this Sunday, with Jo Yapp’s side looking to build on last week’s impressive display against table-toppers Bristol Bears (kick-off 2.30pm, live on BBC iPlayer).

Bristol snatched victory with a last gasp converted try after Warriors had been reduced to 13 players, with the blue and golds itching to go one better this time round.

Four changes

Warriors have made four changes from last week’s classic, with Lyndsay O’Donnell and Jo Brown getting the nod at second-row and number-eight respectively.

Cat McNaney returns to her favoured full-back berth, while Ireland international Ellen Murphy starts at fly-half.

“Gloucester-Hartpury have some strong, talented players with Zoe Aldcroft and people like Mo Hunt, who likes to keep the pace of the game high, so it should be a really exciting game,” said Jo Yapp, Warriors Women Director of Rugby.

“Our tackle count was massive last week and I was proud of the girl’s efforts, so Tuesday was less contact than normal – however we topped the girls up on that front during Thursday’s session.

Live on BBC iPlayer

“It’s great that the club is being televised on the BBC and that shows the progress that the Allianz Premier 15s is making. We had a good crowd in last week, who were very vocal, and hopefully we can attract a big crowd on Sunday.”
