Cuckson helps England Under-18s to victory in Six Nations Festival opener

Warriors lock Harvey Cuckson helped England Under-18s to a 33-14 win over Wales in their opening match of the Six Nations Festival at Marcoussis near Paris.

Cuckson, of Ellesmere College and Mold RFC, started for England and helped them establish an 18-14 lead at half-time before he was replaced midway through second-half.

England employed their driving maul effectively to rumble Craig Wright (Northampton Saints) over for two tries before the break with Connor Cross of London Irish rounding off a brilliant team score.

After a relatively even first half, it was England who dominated the second, Finn Carnduff (Leicester Tigers) extending their lead before another maul try, this time replacement hooker Charlie Smith (Newcastle Falcons) was the beneficiary. A late penalty from
Morgan Meredith (Leicester Tigers) wrapped up the points for England.

England’s next match in the Festival is against Italy on April 13.
