A whole host of internationals will be on show for Warriors Women when they take on Loughborough Lightning in the Allianz Premier 15s at Sixways tomorrow (kick-off 2pm).
Eight of those involved in this year’s TikTok Six Nations are back in the matchday squad, including Grand Slam-winner Alex Matthews who is among the replacements.
Alex Callender, Player of the Match for Wales in last week’s fixture against Italy, starts at blindside flanker alongside fellow compatriot Sioned Harries.
Scotland internationals Lana Skeldon and Caity Mattinson get the nod at hooker and scrum-half respectively, while centre Jade Shekells is back from her exploits on the World Sevens circuit with England.
“We’re really pleased with our Allianz Cup campaign and ultimately there has been a lot of growth within the squad, and that has come from them gaining valuable minutes on the field,” said Attack and Backs Coach Sian Moore.
“They have really pushed each other and challenged each other in training and overall as coaches we’re happy with their development.
“We’re really excited to get back together as a full squad this week and we welcome back our internationals for what will be a tasty fixture at Sixways.
“The players, who have been selected in the matchday squad have worked really hard in training and they are all really looking forward to the challenge that awaits them.”
