Warriors hooker Loic Keasey named in England Under-18s squad

Warriors hooker Loic Keasey has been included in the England Under-18s squad for the summer tour to South Africa.

Keasey, who plays for RGS Worcester and Worcester RFC, impressed playing for Warriors Under-18s in this season’s Premiership Rugby Academy League.

Keasey secured his place in England’s 26-man squad after an Under-17s Development Camp in Newcastle last month which included a training match against Scotland.

The itinerary for the South Africa tour in August has yet to be confirmed by the RFU but it will involve three international matches which will be played between August 14 and 29.

“This is an exciting overseas tour for this Under-18s group and for a good majority of them it will be their first time putting on an England shirt,” said England Under-18s Head Coach Jonathan Pendlebury.

“Seven of last year’s Under-18s are returning to the squad and will add to their experiences as well as those of the player group overall.

“I know they will all be looking forward to the opportunity, will work hard with their academies through the summer, support one another and embrace the opportunity that playing overseas against different nations brings. Experiences that will develop their game over the long term.”
