Warriors head to the Highlands for Glasgow pre-season match

Warriors will make the long trip to Inverness to play Glasgow Warriors in a pre-season friendly on Friday September 2 (kick-off 7.30pm).

The match will be played at the Caledonian Stadium football ground, home of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and will be part of Inverness-based Highland Rugby Club’s centenary celebrations.

It will be the first rugby match played at the stadium since 2000 when the now defunct Caledonian Reds played Edinburgh there.
Glasgow and Warriors most recently met at Sixways last September in the first Clash of the Warriors when Glasgow edged a 27-22 win.

“Highland RFC is delighted to welcome both Glasgow Warriors and Worcester Warriors to Inverness, as we celebrate our club centenary. Thank you to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for making the stadium available for the match and to everyone involved in the considerable planning for the game,” said Highland Rugby Club President, Graham Findlater.

“I encourage all rugby supporters in the local area and further afield, to buy tickets for the game and come to Inverness to watch what is sure to be a great game of rugby.”
