James Scott signs for Jersey Reds

Lock James Scott will join Championship club Jersey Reds when his Warriors contract expires at the end of this month.

Former England Under-20s international Scott had a spell on loan with Jersey in the 2020/21 season and will join the Channel Islands club on a permanent deal ahead of next season.

Scott, 22, made 12 senior appearances for Warriors – including three in the Premiership Rugby Cup-winning campaign – having progressed from the Three Pears Academy to the senior squad during his time at Sixways.

Scott’s fellow lock Cheick Kone is to continue his rugby career in Italy next season.

Kone has signed to play for Colorno who play in Italy’s Top 12 competition and who are linked to Parma-based Zebre.

Kone is Italy-qualified having spent time living in Bologna before his family moved to Wolverhampton.

He became the first player from the Project Rugby initiative to be contracted by a Premiership Academy when he joined the Three Pears Warriors Academy last summer.

Kone spent most of last season on a dual registration with Luctonians in National Two North and he was an unused replacement in three of Warriors’ Premiership Rugby Cup group matches.
