Warriors trio in England Under-20s matchday squad

Warriors trio Fin Smith, Finn Theobald-Thomas and Tobi Wilson have been named in the England Under-20s matchday squad for the opening game in the Six Nations Summer Series against South Africa in Verona on Friday (kick-off 4pm BST).

Smith will start at fly-half for the match at the Payanini Centre with hooker Theobald-Thomas and full-back Wilson named among the 11 replacements.

Smith won five caps in helping England to an Under-20s Six Nations Grand Slam last year while Theobald-Thomas was capped twice in this year’s tournament. Wilson is in line to win his first cap against South Africa.

“The team is excited to play against South Africa although they are a little bit of an unknown as they haven’t played any games this year at an international level,” said England Under-20s Head Coach Alan Dickens..

“The opportunities for this group to learn and develop over this series are immense and I’m as excited about the players having meaningful game time as I am the final result.”
