Extended Developing Player Programme (XDPP)

EXTENDED DEVELOPING PLAYER PROGRAMME (XDPP)

The Extended Developing Player Programme (XDPP) will seek to provide a high-quality development experience, which provides an initial opportunity to gauge the potential of players for promotion to the Warriors DPP.

Clubs and schools are invited to nominate up to five of their Under 13s and Under 14s players who are considered to have the potential to progress in the sport over and above club and school level. The players who are nominated for these sessions will receive player-centred coaching through a game-sense approach where they will be challenged to make decisions and solve problems on the pitch. The aim of the programme is to facilitate the development of a broad base of players while maintaining a sense of enjoyment, thereby promoting lifelong participation in the game.

Warriors and the six districts – Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, the Black Country, Greater Birmingham and South Warwickshire – are committed to growing the game through developing coaches at grassroots level. These sessions will be open to all coaches and teachers to interact with Warriors staff. And the selected coaches who deliver on the XDPP will receive individual coach mentoring.

Our goal is to raise the overall standard of coaching, which will have a positive direct impact on the players at grassroots level.
