Warriors hit fifty in victory over Caldy

Sunday 22 February 2026

Worcester Warriors crossed for eight tries to secure victory against a spirited Caldy side at Sixways.

Four tries in each half secured victory for the Warriors, extending the winning run to four and maintaining second place in the Champ.

It was the visitors, however who opened the scoring when full-back Charlie Hyde finished well in the corner after the hosts had built some early territory.

Warriors didn’t take long to hit back with Josh Bassett strolling over after a strong Tom Hendrickson break.

Caldy took the lead once more on the eleven-minute mark when winger Will Robinson collected his own chip and chase to run in.

The tries kept coming, with two more in the opening quarter – both coming from flanker Thabo Ndimande, first he got on the end of a motoring driving maul before cutting inside to burrow over for his second and Warriors' third of the half.

The visitors were reduced to 14 when Ryan Higginson saw yellow after a build-up of penalties.

And Worcester capitalised with a fourth try, flanker Tim Anstee adding to his season tally when he forced his way over the line.

Worcester started the second half as they ended the first, with hooker Austin Wallis going over from the back of another driving maul.

Caldy added a third try via Sam Olyott, but the Warriors were still pushing to add to the scoreboard.

After building the pressure through the pack, James Tyas got over the line for Worcester’s sixth try.

Warriors' seventh came after some magic from Will Lane to spot the gap in the Caldy defence before putting the kick through with Jake Garside doing what he does best to finish in the corner.

Ndimande turned creator for Warriors' final try of the afternoon, pouncing on loose-ball before throwing the basketball offload to Roma Zheng, who fed James Short to run-in.

There was still time for Caldy to cross for a fourth and fifth try of their own, with replacement hooker Ollie Hearn leaving Sixways with a brace of tries.
