Match Report for Warriors v Bath pre-season friendly on 19th September 2025
Friday 19 September 2025
After three years away, Worcester Warriors returned to Sixways with a narrow 33-19 defeat to Bath on Friday night.
Warriors led 14-12 at half-time thanks to tries from Louis Brown and Tom Seabrook but the experience of the Bath’s Premiership champions showed, crossing for three second-half scores before Worcester full-back Will Trewin crossed at the death to round-out the night.
It took just three minutes for Sixways to erupt with Matt Kvesic and Siva Naulago breaking down the right before finding Lloyd Williams inside them who sent in Brown for the opener.
Ollie Lawrence saw yellow on his return to Sixways soon after but the visitors still crossed for two tries in quick succession.
First through flanker Guy Pepper from close range and then Ben Spencer after a line-break from Kepu Tuipulotu.
The momentum flipped back to the Warriors however, led by the power up front with scrum penalties giving strong field position to set-up a platform.
And they were rewarded with two minutes to go before the break when Seabrook drove over from close range, Tiff Eden again adding the conversion.
Bath rung the changes at half-time and were immediately rewarded when Ben Spencer crossed for his second try two minutes into the half.
Further changes from both sides stunted the momentum of the game and in-between some near chances for Siva Naulago, Bath added there fourth and fifth tries through Tom Dunn and Vilikesa Sela, both from close range.
The introduction of Khalik Kareem and Thabo Ndimande added a huge injection of pace into the Warriors back-row and the hosts continued to push for a third try.
And with the clock ticking into the red the well deserved third came with replacement full-back Trewin finishing off an excellent try.
Speaking after the game, Warriors flanker Tim Anstee explained how the squad will remember the occasion: “We knew it was going to be a big one out here and feeling the atmosphere from all the fans, it was so special and it’s something that the lads will take forward, even post career.”
Anstee added: “They put out a really strong side and we really matched it and I think the scoreboard reflects which is something the lads can be proud of.”
The match was sponsored by EBC Group, who held a presentation on the pitch after the final whistle to announce the Player Of The Match, Tom Seabrook.
