Six tries for Warriors secures victory over Pirates
Sunday 07 December 2025
Worcester Warriors produced a six-try performance to claim victory over the Cornish Pirates at Sixways.
The hosts ran in four tries before half-time through Will Trewin, Juan González, Khalik Kareem and Tim Anstee, before adding two more in the second half as Kareem completed his brace and Will Reed capped the scoring.
Despite Worcester’s victory, it was the visitors who struck first - hooker Morgan Nelson powered over at the back of a well-drilled driving maul to give the Pirates an early lead.
Worcester responded swiftly with looping interplay across the backline, releasing Louis Brown on the edge, before the full-back’s final offload sent former Pirate Trewin over for the leveller.
The end-to-end rhythm continued as Pirates captain Dan Hiscocks gathered his own chip-and-chase to restore the advantage.
But that lead was short-lived, three Warriors tries in ten minutes swung the momentum decisively in the hosts’ favour.
A moment of brilliance from Reed saw him dance through a gap in the midfield to set up Uruguayan winger González for his first try in Worcester colours.
González then turned creator, reclaiming a high ball before Rory Taylor’s break and quick handling out wide enabled Kareem to cross.
The bonus-point score arrived before half-time, with Anstee finishing neatly after a sharp snipe from scrum-half Lloyd Williams.
Worcester introduced three replacements early in the second half, including debutant Fraser Balmain and just three minutes after his arrival, the Warriors added a fifth try when Reed pounced on an overthrown line-out and raced beneath the posts.
Their sixth followed soon after, Kareem showcasing his power to shrug off Matty Ward and his pace to surge in for his second of the afternoon.
The visitors however, refused to fade as Hiscocks claimed his second try as the visitors pushed for a bonus point, and they secured it late on when replacement winger Harry Yates leapt to collect a cross-field kick and finished well in the corner.
