Warriors score nine tries in victory on road

Sunday 30 November 2025

Worcester Warriors fought back from a 14-0 deficit to score 61 unanswered points in victory away at Cambridge.

The hosts raced into a two try lead, before two quick responses from the Warriors clawed the game back level at half-time and in the second period, Worcester ran in seven tries to complete the victory.

Both sides struggled within the early stages with the damp pitch conditions, neither grasping a foothold in the game until Cambridge winger Eli Caven took the crash ball off a line-out to give his side the lead.

Just seven minutes later the hosts advantage doubled when British Army winger Tautusi Qaniuci strolled over after receiving the ball outwide and stepping the final defender.

But the Warriors hit back almost immediately when Tim Anstee found himself in space down the left wing before feeding Jake Garside who ran-in for Worcester’s opener, with Will Reed knocking over the first of eight successful conversions.

And Worcester were level just over five minutes later when a strong driving maul gave the visitors a solid attacking platform, with forward phases getting the pack inches out before Austin Wallis powered over.

Worcester came out of the blocks quickly in the second period and took the lead five minutes into the half when Garside proved elusive in the tackle once more before quick hands found Roma Zheng out wide.

It was a quick-fire double which turned into a flurry of tries, first James Tyas completed his injury return with a try from close range before Will Trewin got on the end of Reed’s grubber through to cross for Warriors 5th try.

Garside added his second of the game just a few minutes later when he pounced on the scraps of a Tiff Eden up-and-under to race in, and it was Trewin’s turn to add a second next with Eden turning provider once again with a looping mis pass.

Warriors captain Matt Kvesic got in on the action when he powered over from close range before Anstee rounded off the scoring with ten minutes to go via a good finish in the corner.

The bonus point victory extends Worcester’s unbeaten run to four, with fourth place Cornish Pirates heading to Sixways next weekend on a winning run of their own!
