Warriors suffer defeat against Bedford

Sunday 12 April 2026

Worcester Warriors fell to defeat to Bedford Blues at Sixways, losing 28-14 on Saturday afternoon.

Bedford crossed for two first-half tries to take the lead before the Warriors pegged one back, but two more second-half tries secured Bedford the win.

The opening stages of the game saw both sides jostle to grab the game's momentum, with some strong defensive sets from the Warriors livening the Sixways crowd.

Sixways soon saw a deluge of rain hit with both sides handling effected, and as the downpour started to die down, Bedford took the lead with Amena Caqusau reading a pass outwide perfectly to go in under the posts, with Will Maisey adding the conversion.

Five minutes later, Bedford had a second with scrum-half Alex Day finding the line after a break from Lucas Titherington.

Worcester continued to fight for a way back into the game and nearly had the reward following a Siva Naulago break, but the final pass didn’t quite find the hands.

On the stroke of the break, the Warriors did get the first try with continued pressure built on the Bedford line Hal Chapman burrowed over the line for his fifth try of the season.

The second half at Sixways started much like the first, both sides trying to establish the half’s momentum, and it was Bedford who crossed first when Dean Adamson finished in the corner despite strong defensive efforts in the corner.

With the introduction of much of the Warriors' bench, the hosts continued to hunt for a second try, and it came with fifteen minutes remaining when full-back Will Trewin crossed after receiving an offload from Tiff Eden, who had cut through the Bedford defence.

Maisey missed a chance to extend his side's lead, pushing a penalty wide, but as the game headed into the final ten minutes, the momentum seemed to stick with the visitors.

And the game was secured with two minutes to go, with Adamson getting his second try to clinch the victory for Bedford.
