Worcester Warriors Announce First Player Signing as Exciting New Era Unfolds
Wednesday 14 May 2025
Worcester Warriors are thrilled to announce the first of several major player signings as the club embarks on an exciting new chapter. Following an exciting rebuild phase, Warriors are set to unveil a series of signings that will proudly wear the Blue and Gold, ahead of the upcoming season.
The first signing to be revealed is none other than Matt Kvesic, the formidable back-row forward who returns home to Sixways. Kvesic has over 260 Premiership appearances, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the club.
Kvesic, a dynamic and versatile flanker, began his professional career with Worcester Warriors in 2009 before making impactful stints with Gloucester Rugby, Exeter Chiefs, and Coventry. With over a decade of top-level experience, including representing England, Kvesic is set to bolster the Warriors' forward pack and provide invaluable leadership both on and off the pitch.
‘’Firstly, I’m exceptionally excited to rejoin my first club, third time lucky! Back at a club which means so much to me, the place that gave me an opportunity as a 16/17-year-old. I want to be a part of their journey back to top flight rugby, albeit it slightly older and hopefully wiser! It was a no brainer to be part of what Christopher, Steve and Matt are building and I am here to support them on and off the field. I know there’s a huge desire for professional rugby to be back in the city and it’ll be an honour to put the blue and gold colours back on.’’ says Kvesic
Kvesic’s return marks the beginning of a series of player signings set to be announced over the coming weeks as Warriors build a formidable squad for the season ahead under the leadership of recently announced Head Coach, Matt Everard.
‘’I am delighted with the signing of Matt Kvesic. Matt is a massive part of Worcester Warriors, and Worcester Warriors is a massive part of Matt. He is someone who knows and cares about the Club, the city, and the fans. But not only that, he is a top-quality player who has been in environments that have won big competitions and big games. He knows what it takes to win, and what it looks like on a day-to-day basis. He is someone I know personally and I have worked with in the past, and I cannot wait to welcome Matt and his family back home to Sixways.’’ says Everard
Stay tuned for more updates as Worcester Warriors continue to make waves both on and off the pitch.
