Worcester Warriors | Lloyd Williams returns to Sixways

Lloyd Williams returns to Sixways

Friday 18 September 2026

Worcester Warriors are delighted to announce the return of scrum-half Lloyd Williams ahead of the opening weekend of the Champ Rugby season.

Williams is immediately available for selection for tomorrow's game against Bedford Blues.

Lloyd made a significant impact during his year at the Warriors last season, playing 22 times, crossing for six tries and also captaining the side on two occasions.

He announced his retirement from rugby before the Champ play-offs and signed off in style with a win in the final against Bedford, but returns to the game ahead of this weekend’s clash against the same team.

Speaking on his return, Lloyd said, "It's been a bit of a surreal week, but it's been great coming back, seeing everyone and fitting back into the environment - everyone's made me feel really welcome."

"Now I need to switch on to playing now and remember what it used to feel like to play for Worcester and I can't wait to experience that again."

Warriors Head Coach Matt Everard added, "We are delighted that such a brilliant person both on and off the pitch as Lloyd has decided to re-join us ahead of the season.

Lloyd was a massive influence not just on the playing group last season, but also on the coaching staff through his attitude and desire to continually grow.

His impact on the pitch is outstanding, but the experience and wealth of knowledge he brings is excellent. We can't wait to see how he continues to add to the group."
